If your Mac computer won't start/boot after updating to High Sierra, you can try to reset NVRAM and PRAM to fix the unbootable Mac. Restart your Mac and simultaneously press 'Command+Option+P+R' keys. Check if your Mac can successfully boot into macOS High Sierra after update. Fix 3: Use Disk Utility in Recovery Mode.
Hi I currently have two Mac's, an early 2011 MacBook Pro and a mid 2010 iMac. I have just upgraded the MacBook Pro to High Sierra and Pathfinder no longer runs. I have not yet upgraded the iMac. When I attempt to start Pathfinder the dock icon bounces then stops (as normal) but no Pathfinder windows opens. The application is listed in Activity Monitor running at approx. 65% CPU and after approx. 30 seconds Pathfinder shows as Not Responding (still at 65% CPU usage).
I can force kill it and it does stop. You recently posted a response to a question from Peter Bravard regarding some issues with Pathfinder on MacOS 10.13. Your suggestion to him was to completely uninstall and reinstall Pathfinder but before doing so changing some preference settings as per this article. Tomato adblock script.
I would like to try this to see if it resolves my problem but as I cannot get the application running I cannot make the recommended changes to preferences. I have already downloaded and installed the latest version manually - 7.6.1. Can you advise how I resolve this problem. Thanks Tiran Irani. Hi Tiran, We are really sorry you are impacted by this rather rare problem.
We've been testing the app after the first report from another customer but could not replicate anything even remotely close to that. Please try reinstalling the app without making changes to the preferences, you may want to use the AppCleaner tool (), it's free. If that won't help, could you send us a sample (a snapshot) of Path Finder process in a separate file - this will enable us to analyze what happens with the application. Here's how to get it: • Open Path Finder and reproduce the problem.
• Open Activity Monitor from the /Applications/Utilities folder. • Select Path Finder in the process list. To help making a selection, type 'Path Finder' in the Filter field.
• Click the Sample Process button in the toolbar - this will open a new window entitled 'Sample of Path Finder' and a sample of the process is collected. • Click Save and save the sample file.

Thanks damned. I did search, but didn't get that thread. Searching this forum is a hit or miss affair. Looks like I'm in a bit of a pickle. I didn't realize it was going to auto install or I would have blocked it for a while.
Tonight, I'll give the suggestions on the thread a try and get back with the results since it seems to be an open issue. If you are on the main release and not the beta release or whatever its called you should be ok following those steps I think. I spend too much time on here so I usually know the answer is there so have some idea what to search on.
