Something has changed around a week into the 2016 season and it is inconsistent. The gear on the ground has always remained for around fifteen minutes. This year, it has sometimes disappeared within a few minutes. I just helped defend on Lightbringer and looted the gear, then by the time I had my second toon out to loot it, three minutes later, it was already gone. I switched back to the toon that looted it to see if it was visible to that toon, and it was not. After doing some ram racing stuff, I did a second defense with the toon that failed to loot the gear, and again it dropped.
