Hi George, How abut if you check if the scanner hardware is being detected, open Windows Device Manager (keyboard shortcut is WIN key + X key + M key or WIN Key + X key and select Device Manager) and expand Imaging Devices. If there is not error code or exclamation or question mark, open Devices & Printers, right click the scanner icon (based in the web info, it may be called CanoScan) and select Start Scan - this will use WIA. If you plan to use MP Navigator, reading some info in Canon US (), the software use TWAIN. Adobe lightroom 5 serial key. If using both WIA or TWAIN failed, not sure if you have tried - disconnect the scanner USB cable, uninstall the driver (from Windows Programs & Features), check also the Windows Twain_32 folder as by default it will have one file called wiatwain.ds (if there are other files or folder, for testing purpose cut and paste to another folder or even copy it to a thumb drive), restart, create a manual Windows restore point (as a suggestion), install the updated driver, connect the USB cable and test. I have downloaded the latest driver for my Canon LIDE110 scanner for windows 10, but not working since I upgraded to Windows 10 My Canoscan 4200F worked quite well with Windows 7 Home Basic, though once in a while I would get the 'Twain Error' message on trying to acquire the s acanner with the ArcSoft 5.5 software supplied along with the scanner. I faced no trouble when I upgraded to Windows 10 Home.
However on 31 Aug 2015, the twain error message kept re-appearing. The steps I finally took, after a bit of trial and error, to get around this issue were as follows: I removed the scanner under Settings -> Devices, and uninstalled the scanner app under 'All Apps' through the Windows 10 start button. YES - Windows 10 sucks. I cannot even re-install my Epson WP-4530 printer with scanner. The scanner module crashes everytime. So I bought an HP OJ-8610 and installed its software.
It would not print unless I upgraded the drivers backward to the 8600 model. And still the scanner would not work under Acrobat 11 or Acrobat 10. MS has screwed millions of hours out of hard working people trying to make this piece of **** Win10 work. The world was a better place without Win10. I agree Windows 10 does not work well certainly not an improvement time to move on.
